EGGS: TO EAT (THE YOLK) OR NOT TO EAT! So eggs are a very high source of quality protein, not to mention they are inexpensive and easy to make. I am a big fan of eggs! They also provide us with amino acids, lutein which is good for your eyes and choline which is good for your brain. There are actually a lot of studies that show that eating a whole egg a day will not actually raise your cholesterol or increase your risk of heart disease, contrary to popular belief! When I work with my clients, I recommend eating eggs, egg whites or a combination of the two regularly. The best eggs to buy are those that are free-range or cage-free. I always buy organic eggs and I like to buy the ones that have Omega-3 added. SOOOO, Id say if you have HIGH cholesterol, check with your doctor first or eat egg whites if you prefer. But if your cholesterol is normal, you should be able to enjoy 1 whole egg on regular basis!
