EXCAVATION UPDATE: The Okinawa Defense Bureau confirmed for us today that they had successfully investigated every magnetic abnormality on the soccer field down to two meters below the surface. Their final magnetic scans and digs on Saturday revealed no new barrels. They also finished collecting water and soil samples from around the dig sites. They have not completed all of their observation and sampling of the excavated barrels. There are about 15 more barrels that will need to be sampled and photographed today. We do know they intend to conduct vertical magnetic sampling in the future in order to check for anything buried deeper than two meters, but the exact timing of those tests is no yet known.
