EXCLUSIVE: MoFA: Circular 007/2014 Has NOT been Reversed Says #SouthSudan Govt Official. A government official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told the National Courier that the Government of South Sudan has not reversed or rescinded the Circular 007/2014 which was issued by the Ministry of Labour limiting the roles of foreign workers in the workforce. Circular 007/2014 has not been reversed. What the honourable Minister did yesterday was simply to clarify some clerical errors.... Those foreigners in the positions that can be filled by South Sudanese must still vacate them by 15th of October, said the official who asked not to be named because he is not authorised to speak. The official dismissed international and regional media reports that the order has been reversed. These people are malicious. They are addressing their audiences after creating hysteria out of nothing. Kenya and Uganda have similar laws as the ones we enacted... It is hypocrisy, he said. The National Courier is still awaiting an official comment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Labour whose official spokesmen were in a government meeting at the time of publication.
