Dear Senator Walters, I just learned about the proposed bill SB1381 to label GMOs and am writing to express my strong support of this issue. I am a nutritionist and work with many clients who struggle with serious health issues as a direct result from the foods they eat. I am also a mother, and care deeply about the foods I feed my children. Labeling GMOs is such an important step in giving consumers our food freedom - the ability to make choices about our own food. This is no different than labeling ingredients or other nutritional information. I know you receive a lot of pressure from the industry to prevent the labeling of GMOs, and I also know that it is critically important to give consumers - all of us - the choice of whether to feed them to our children or not.
