Ebola case numbers in Freetown and Western Area are increasing rapidly. Kings is now supporting the establishment of isolation wards in several health clinics across Western Area to address the urgent demand for hospital beds. An isolation unit at the Macauley St Health Clinic in eastern Freetown is in the final stages of construction thanks to the combined efforts of Goal, King’s and Macauley St. management. King’s Nurse Andy Hall has used his experience in designing military field hospitals to oversee the project. “The guys here have been working so hard and so fast to get this unit finished. In just five days they have achieved so much. We desperately need more beds in Freetown and this unit will help carry the load”.
