Ecuador Day 2, Continued A day filled with health screenings, photos, and tire scrubbing. A member of our team, Julie, is an optometrist with Downtown Tulsa Eyecare. She volunteered to give eye exams to all the children, staff and missionaries at Casa de Fe. She was BUSY! These exams were such a blessing to them. And I have to confess, I cried when a few of the kiddos were able to see clearly for the first time. Since every child would be passing through, it was a perfect time for our team nurse, Heather, to assist with the health screenings and medication. Once the kiddos were done with the health clinic they headed out to me for a couple photos. I took a head shot and full body shot of each child to include in their files. Meanwhile, the men put in a full day of hard labor. I snuck out to capture what they had been up to, scrubbing 56 tires with gasoline and soap to prepare them for use in the playground we would help build later in the week. I think that gasoline smell held on most of the week. ;)
