Imagine what would happen if someone is in your home and something goes bad with your electrical work. They might plug in a device to charge it and get electrocuted. Other things can happen as well with bad electrical work. If you have home owners insurance the liability coverage takes care of things and protects you from being sued. If that policy were somehow denied though, then you would be in serious legal trouble. That can happen easily if you hire and use an unlicensed electrician for your home repair electrical work. The insurance company will ask questions after an incident is reported. One of those questions is about repairs and additions. They will ask if the contractor and electrician that handled your electrical work were licensed. If the answer is no, then the entire policy can be cancelled. Imagine what that means in the long run. Its not good.
