Elizabeth will go home tomorrow night (Saturday) after 6 days of chemo. This round of chemo made her extremely tired. She has slept 18-20 hours a day and is still tired. This is an effect of one of the chemo agents, according to the oncologist. Elizabeth had a full calendar of testing over the next 3 weeks. Then she will be admitted on 9-9-14 to prepare for the stem cell transplant. She will have a new central line placed, because her port does not allow enough access. She will get 4 chemo agents to completely wipe out her immune system. Then she will have her stem cells transfused--just like a blood transfusion. She will remain in the hospital for 4-6 weeks during this time. I have been working thru out this entire cancer relapse. I would like to thank all my friends, co-workers and family for helping me with Amanda, household duties and work as I try to balance this seemingly impossible, most trying, difficult time in our lives.
