Elon Musk, born on this day - June 28, 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa - is an inventor, investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist who is widely known as the champion of the Tesla Electric Car company. He is becoming equally known and respected in some circles for his daring conscious capitalism approach to business where the consumer, the environment, the stakeholders, and the planet are regarded with equal importance and awareness. He most recently in June, 2014 declared audaciously and auspiciously for the growing ecology of commerce movement (phrase taken from social architect/entrepreneur paul hawken) - that all patents for the Tesla car would be released to the general public to be used to stimulate the electric car market... Perhaps as or more important - his action seems to flip a fearless, friendly bird to the fear-based bottom line approach of the old guard. The Tesla is currently a $100,000 vehicle. His desire is to stimulate the industry to create versions that are affordable to the general public. Musk is also principle investor/co-founder in Paypal, Space X and is envisioner of the proposed high speed transportation system called Hyperloop. He joins Warren Buffet and naughty entrepreneur made good - Bill Gates in the Giving Pledge circle who aims to devote their fortunes to the public good. This is to show that one not be deterred in ones vision, regardless of quirks of sartorial style, and in fact encourages us all to follow our dreams with such goodwilled passion that we can wear what ever we please with happy abandon and without consequence.
