(21Alive) – All the necessary ingredients are coming together for severe weather on Sunday. Relatively warm air is already in place at the surface. A strong mid-level jet streak coupled with a strengthening low and a cold front trailing behind will move across Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. This combination has caused the Storm Prediction Center to place us under a moderate risk for severe weather. The biggest severe threat is going to be strong winds in excess of 58mph. There is also a chance we could see an isolated tornado. The best chance for this severe weather is Sunday afternoon, but a few scattered storms may become severe earlier in the day.
