Enbridge Response Practice Drill is today A 30” diameter petroleum pipeline runs through this area Lakes carrying 960,000 gallons of crude oil per hour through our watershed. In an effort to be fully prepared for the possibility of a spill, a joint practice response - pipeline drill in the Indian River on September 17, 2014 is planned. Response personnel from Enbridge, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), local first responders and emergency management personnel along with support contractors will be working together for this response exercise. During this scheduled practice drill, invited participants will be walking around the area, driving vehicles, hauling response equipment, or launching and operating boats. Part of the exercise will include spreading a boom across the Indian River. Local boat launches and the river system will still be open during the drill.
