Encouragement towards Righteousness (effacing minor sins) #2 ANSWERING THE ADHAAN: Sa`d bin Abu Waqqaas رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ “If anyone says on hearing the Muadhdhin: I testify that there is no one worthy of being worshiped but Allaah alone. Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, (and that) I am satisfied with Allaah as my Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger and with Islaam as Deen (code of life), his sins would be forgiven.” [Saheeh Muslim (749)]
