End of the Year Celebration and Benefit for the Susan G. Komen® NC Triangle to the Coast Affiliate Event date: December 4, 2013 Day of week: Wednesday Start time: 6:00 PM End time: 8:00 PM Time zone: EDT Event Details On December 4th from 6 to 8 pm the HBA RTP Chapter is hosting an End of the Year celebration at The RTP Conference Center. The evening will feature a silent auction and raffle to benefit the Susan G. Komen® North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate (Susan G. Komen NCTC). This event is open to all – members and non-members. Members are encouraged to invite their partners to meet their HBA family! Come help us celebrate our chapter’s accomplishments, network with women leaders in healthcare, and raise funds to support the Susan G. Komen NCTC’s Community Health Programs to provide education, screening, treatment, and support to women in our community. All proceeds from the auction and raffle will be for the sole benefit of the Susan G. Komen NCTC. Heavy hors doeuvres will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to celebrate, network, and give back! Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate Founded in 1997, the Susan G. Komen NCTC is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised through community fundraising events like the Race for the Cure, Rally for the Cure, 3rd party partner events, individual donations, and corporate philanthropy are invested locally to meet the health challenges faced by women in their 29 county service area. At the same time, 25% of every dollar raised goes back to the national offices of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to be used in support to the scientific research, advocacy, and global educational programs that move us closer to the goal of a world without breast cancer. In 2012 - 2013, they awarded $1.1 million to fund 19 community health programs to meet the needs of people in our state. The Susan G. Komen NCTC service area covers 29 counties including: Bladen, Brunswick, Caswell, Chatham, Columbus, Duplin, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Orange, Pender, Person, Pitt, Sampson, Scotland, Vance, Warren, Wake, and Wilson.
