Entropomorphic The world is closing in Our rush to be the forward ones Our zeal to be the creative ones Has made us so small Where did we go wrong? Wasn’t it natural to be curious? To manipulate our environs, our genes? To encroach on territory held Mostly by lizards? The bird knows its hunting grounds The bear knows its boundaries The fish knows where to go to spawn Man has no such quandaries And in flight from here to there Almost at the speed of sound How many fires are sparked by nature Anymore? We have even littered space With our debris Floating weightless until it crashes Back on Earth But then the only natural resource Worth saving is consciousness When we evolve to the point That we can be invasive without Lifting a finger Who’s going to clean up the mess? The Monkeys?...
