Our group has supported Wells Fargo s solar investments of over $1 billion since 2007. We are a small, tight-knit, team-oriented group that collaborates closely with other lines of business to invest in the solar industry and identify other environmental lending opportunities. The analyst will have a wide range of responsibilities, providing unparalleled opportunities to develop a foundation of financial skills, have broad exposure to the solar market, and collaborate with other industry professionals inside and outside the bank. The primary focus of the role will be contributing to our active tax-equity solar project finance business. The analyst will conduct project diligence, including assessing the unique risks of each project and facilitating the process of financing new projects. The role offers ample opportunity for analysis and critical thinking, including modeling project cash flows and quantitatively analyzing risk/return profiles of proposed projects. In addition to collaborating with other team members, the analyst will work with a wide range of solar industry professionals, including solar developers, engineers, lawyers, appraisers, and others. Other responsibilities include writing credit memoranda, project performance tracking, internal and external reporting on activities within our group, internal process improvement, and database implementation Wells Fargos Environmental Finance Group has supported the Banks deployment of over $20 billion in environmental commitments since 2005, including over $3 billion in solar and wind project investments. A major emphasis of the Environmental Finance Group is supporting the Bank s solar and wind tax equity investments and the Global Cleantech Commercial Banking Group. The analyst will be expected to take coursework to develop a fundamental understanding of finance, including classes on accounting, corporate finance, and project finance. Additional coursework or training opportunities will be available as career development tools, depending on the background of the analyst. *** Do not contact the hiring manager directly *** Basic Qualifications 3+ years reporting and analytical experience or a minimum of a Bachelors degree in programs such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics or computer sciences. Minimum Qualifications -Interest in relevant fields (demonstrated through work experience or course work), including renewable energy, sustainability, environmental economics, or project finance. -Strong analytical skills -Problem solving skills and ability to work on complex issues. -Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Preferred Qualifications -BA/BS degree -The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of work experience, including some combination of specific industry or educational experience - such as in renewable energy, sustainability, environmental business, economics or policy, or resource management. Banking related experience is preferred but not required. -Self-starter with a high level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail. Strong motivation to develop new skills. -Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment; ability to work effectively with people inside and outside the Bank. -Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment. Ability to develop efficient processes. -General comfort with quantitative problem solving, including proficiency in Excel. Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions from it. Financial modeling experience is preferred. -Strong communication skills - both written and oral. Ability to break down complex problems and articulate them to others. -Strong research skills - need for detail oriented market and industry research. -Passion for environmental or renewable energy topics.
