Estimate cost of products that are to be custom designed and manufactured. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors . Maintain an orderly closed work orders, sequenced by type of products. Analyze differenced in estimates and actuals for job summary reports. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor. Estimate cost of new standard products being developed; monitoring progress of product development and approve accuracy of cost related data. Estimate costs of any design changes of standard products and verify accuracy of data. Assist in design of custom manufactured items to assure efficient manufacturing techniques. Assist in cost analysis of sales catalog and pricing reviews. Consult with Production and Engineering Departments concerning performance varying substantially from cost estimates to determine cause and possible corrective action. In coordination with Accounting, set accurate labor standards, and analyze production information to ensure that standards are correct and current while maintaining communication of the status with Production Department Foreman. Responsible for making proper disposition of returned merchandise authorization (RMA) goods, and ensuring the correct procedures are followed and documentation is correct and complete. Assist Production personnel in planning and routing jobs through the shop. Assist Purchasing Department in follow up of due and delinquent purchase orders. Maintain 5S office and continuous improvement lean initiatives. Other duties as assigned.
