SLIPSTREAM = NIL POINTS Cracking evening, cracking race and cracking UP. Great evenings entertainment at the grand finale of the Slaney CC A4/novice league. I was the lone Slipstream participant tonight. We in the novice group got the usual start and with hard work and determination managed to stay away. About 3 laps in 2 serc lads jumped (I think Luke and Cathal) got about 150mtrs on us and I thought “jaze we cant be having that” so I went in hot pursuit and managed to reel them in, a bit of a pointless exercise as Luke went again on the last half lap and to be honest I had no answer and obviously neither had anybody else. So he galloped home clear winner, Well done Luke. The sprint started early and it was all guns blazing, I had a great gallop with James Brown (SERC). Think we came in about 10th/11th . Well done to the SERC boys getting 1st , Johnny Halford, 2nd Andy Loughlin, and 3rd Ben Homes in the overall league. My first real taste of racing and enjoyed it no end. Big thanks to Antoinette and Jake for their support and to our Gary McBride who came down with me this evening to support me.
