Surprise in boys hammer as Matija Greguric of Croatia won 79.38 PB (5 kg) over Pavel Paliakou of Belarus 79.02 PB and Australian favorite Matt Denny 78.67. British super talent Morgan Lake is the heptathlon overnight leader 3736 points with excellent 190 in the high jump, enough to win the individual competition. At her age Anna Chicherova won this championships with 189 and Stefka Kostadinova also cleared 190. Irene Ekelund of Sweden clocked in 200 m heats high quality 23.02 national junior record (-0.7).
