Euclid Avenue...another Elizabeth Eaton photo...Jan., 2014.....looking eastward, toward Willow Street...on the right were the former Gloria Apartments at 328 Euclid..the Woody Freney family lived next to the then-Gloria apartments in a modest wood-framed house with a nice porch,& trees behind the house. Clarence Clay Freney, one of Globe High Schools greatest athletes, lived there, as did his two sisters..Clay graduated from GHS in 1958. Football became Clays legacy at GHS & at ASU, where he was selected by legendary football coach, Frank Kush, to lead ASU as a linebacker & starting full-back. He was All State at GHS and All American at ASU...when he lived on Euclid Avenue, he was a member of the famous Termite Club...Clay Freney was inducted into the Globe High School Hall of Fame in 2012....heres a photo of the great Clay Freney with the Termites in about 1951 and in 1960 at ASU.....
