Even though Syria is an enemy of Israel and always seek to destroy it, Since February 2013, the #Israeli hospital Ziv Medical Center has treated almost 1,000 #Syrian casualties, men, women and children, suffering from severe wounds sustained during the civil war raging in #Syria. The journey to Ziv is complicated. Seriously wounded Syrian #citizens who reach the border are transferred to an #IDF field hospital, where they are treated and transferred to Ziv in a military ambulance if they require more intensive care. Beyond the initial trauma care, most of the casualties are in need of emergency surgery, and indeed, many require repeated complex surgical procedures. In the words of Dr. Oscar Embon, Director of Ziv, It is the task of our medical staff to save lives and offer treatment to patients, regardless of their nationality or religion. This is a humanitarian issue. We do not examine whether the injured are civilians or which side of the fighting they support. As the number of arrivals has been steadily increasing, Ziv is in urgent need of financial assistance. The estimated average cost of a Syrian casualty is US$15,000. Israel, does NOT getting any help from UNRWA (Like the Palestinians and paying for all of this from Israeli money. This is how humanitarian Israel is!
