Every year I approach foaling season with such mixed feelings. - TopicsExpress

Every year I approach foaling season with such mixed feelings. Breeding miniature horses has proven to be much different than my experience with breeding the large horse breeds. I am passionate about my babies... I guess that is why I continue. I have been so excited about ALL of my 2014 anticipated foals. This has been a very tough week at Azariah Miniatures and a disappointing start to the 2014 foaling season... Our first foal was premature, stillborn at 306 days by C-Section on Monday night, a filly. The little momma is home and being pampered, but is sad and very sore. Praying that the rest of my foaling season is more upbeat. Having a hard time gearing up for the next mare that begins labor... have one at 326 days and another at 312. My minis average is 335 days.
