Everyone who knows me knows that I love crafting. I love trying new things and really get a lot of enjoyment from working with my hands. In March of this year I tried my hand at polymer clay and have made some pretty cool necklaces with a technique called applique. Well, my sister-in-law, Melody Lewis caught wind of my new craft and gave me a call. Her son Rylan was getting married to his beautiful Aimee and she asked me if I would like to take on the challenge of making the cake toppers for the wedding cake. Of course I said yes but in reality I was very worried that this would be a little over my skill level. Rylan is a firefighter and Aimee is a nurse so of course we had to encorporate that into our planning along with their two puppies. I spent one whole weekend at Melodys house and after many hours of much laughter and yes, some tears we were quite proud of our creation. A couple of weeks later I returned to her house to make a topper for the grooms cake...a fire truck. Again, a huge undertaking. The wedding was a few weeks ago and was absolutely beautiful. I felt so blessed to be a part of their special day and was even more overjoyed that I got to make a lot of people smile when they saw our work. Melody I love you the goodest and cant wait for our next adventure. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.
