Everything is so fickle when youre in high school. Friends come and go, so you gotta remember to appreciate what you have before it almost inevitably changes or just goes away completely, whether its for reasons that you cant help like moving away or for stupid reasons that you control. Nothing in high school is as serious as you may think it is right now. Think back to when you were in middle school, and something happened that made you think it was the end of the world. If you think back now now that youre older, you should realize that it was silly and it really wasnt as dramatic as you thought it was. Things change, and people change. You and your friends will fight and you will believe that you will never make up with them again. Only very rarely that is true. It may take a few days, a few months, or maybe a few years, but whatever it is that is holding you and your friends apart, it will eventually fade. Dont hold onto grudges forever. Remember the good times you had with your old friends. Youre keeping yourself from experiencing them furthermore. There are few things that your friends can do to you that are truly unforgivable. Dont give up on them so easily. Remember, acknowledge, and appreciate what they have done for you in the past, and dont forget to remind them every now and then that you appreciate and treasure their friendship. Two of my best friends moved away to different continents and I have had fights with my friends but I realize that the friendship matters more than those things so I didnt let it change the friendship, let alone ruin it. Now the only problem with that is that it doesnt matter unless your friend(s) on the other side realize this as well, and if they dont, its really sad. I hope this helps at least one person realize that the bonds youve created with your friends are really something special and shouldnt be something to be taken lightly. Whether Ive known you since grade 5 or Ive just met you this year, I love and appreciate you guys, dont ever forget that :)
