Excitement builds for Milo and Big Bash Cricket This week Friday Night Cricket will be moved to Sunday morning to coincide with the ACA Masters match. This match is between a local Moira Shire team and the star studded team of former Test Cricketers will commence at 1.00 p.m.. As a lead into this game our own superstar Milo and Big Bash cricketers will play at 11.30 a.m.. As usual our Milo Program will be lead by gun A.Grade batsman Zach Moore. Zach has thoroughly enjoyed seeing the kids improve over the past six weeks. Zach has been ably assisted by our star junior player Jayanna Sharp. Jayanna has been a terrific role model for our Milo cricketers. Round 5 of Big Bash cricket will also commence at 11.30 a.m.. Matches will be keenly contested and all players have enjoyed trying to smash the ball to all areas of the field. This week our regular panel of umpires will not be available so it is essential that all available parents assist to ensure the matches run smoothly. With both the Milo and Big Bash programs member of the ACA Masters will assist in various capacities. This will allow our youngsters to get a chance to develop their skills from players who have played at the elite level. It will be a sensational morning and it is hoped that as usual the precinct will be full of kids enjoying their cricket. Last Friday night was another warm evening with numbers slightly down due to Sacred Hearts Fete. Enthusiasm of all those in attendance continued to be high and the parental support was appreciated. In the Milo Program the INTERSPORT Wingates Awards were received by Bonnie Barker, McKenzie Bruce, Jace Gove, Miller Sanderson, Cameron Stephens, Hamish Wilson and Eva Wilson. Congratulations to these players and thanks to INTERSPORT Wingates for their continual support. In the Big Bash competition there were many high scores. Results were Zimbabwe 166 defeated West Indies 121, England 154 defeated India 139, New Zealand 200 defeated Pakistan 102, South Africa 82 defeated Sri Lanka 60. Awards winners were Hamish Ingram, Beau Cummins, Lachlan Phillips, Sam Hemphill, Austin Willett, Dainton Morton, Oliver Cope and Sam Davidson. As usual the icy poles generously supplied by Woolworths were consumed as quickly as they were handed out. Looking forward to a massive day of Cricket on Sunday.
