Experienced Event planner Paid Internship position Must have a valid work permit and Canadian Experience (2 years experience planning massive events in Canada) part time opportunity Duties include: - Assist in developing new events, maintaining, organizing and managing existing, special events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently to generate maximum exposure - Coordinate online and offline promotion of events - Assist with on-site management of event, including set-up, tear-down, and supervision of volunteers where applicable - Stay in regular communication with your staff contact - Provide direction to volunteers and oversee volunteer stations and schedule throughout the event - Represent LatinCouver Business and Cultural Society in a professional manner at all times - Be part of planning a wrap-up potluck/party to thank volunteers Qualifications: - 2-3 years of event planning/management or project management experience in Canada - Must have proven experience organizing events in Canada!!!! - 2 years of experience supervising staff - Volunteer coordination experience is an asset - 2 years of experience working with sponsors and fundraising - 2 years of experience in marketing - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Ensures strong logistical coordination for assigned events - Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. - Degree in relevant profession or academic background. - A passion for sustainability, environmental and social justice - Consistency - able to return phone calls and emails promptly - Self-motivated - able to work remotely and stay in touch with staff regularly - Excellent English written and verbal communication skills - Ability to communicate and write in Spanish is an asset - Organized, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks within deadlines - Good sense of humour and a can-do attitude - Valid work permit Apply today by sending your resume and cover letter by email [email protected]
