Explanation of the statement of Al-Imaam Ash-shaykh Ibn - TopicsExpress

Explanation of the statement of Al-Imaam Ash-shaykh Ibn Seereen(rahimahuLlaah). Al-Imaam Ibn Seereen said: Indeed this is the matter of the deen so look closely from whom you take the understanding of your deen from. If we patiently ponder at this statement of Imaam Ibn Seereen we would come to understand that this is a matter from which many muslims have been misled upon. This is a similar statement of Allaah Azza Wajal when He Jalla wa alaa said: If indeed you follow many of those upon the earth; they will lead you astray from the path of Allaah. A muslim should understand that he is recommended strictly never to take his deen from just anywhere he deems fit. As he himself will be responsible for being misguided on the day of reckoning. Al-Imaam Al-Haafidh Ad-darqutniyy(rahimahuLlaah) reported from Hudhayfah Bn Al-Yammaan(radiyaLlaahu anhu) what is also in correlation with this statement of Al-Imaam Ibn Seereen. He(radiyaLlaahu anhu) was reported to have said: Oh you people of the Quran! Indeed a great deal of time has passed on(I.e you have those whom you can take knowledge from)! However if you take from the right and the left; then you would be plainly misguided. Indeed all these statements establishes in our heart that the understanding of the deen is a valuable and priceless matter which a muslim must value and hold at high esteem. Therefore; Oh Slave of Ar-rahmaan! Watch strictly from whom you take the understanding of your deen from. I personally ask you: Is your teacher from those upon what the pious predecessors were upon? Else you had better make Hijra as Allaah says in suuratu Nnajm that: And None will be held responsible for the wrongs of the other. So if you are misguided! You are misguided for Your Own Soul. May Allaah guide us aright.
