FASTING SERVICE – DAY 1: PART 1 TRUE FASTING: NOT BY FLESH BUT BY THE SPIRIT By Pastor Addmore We greet you in the name of Jesus. It is fasting but we did not start today. Fasting was there before the foundations of the earth. We have been fasting before the foundations of the earth; this is just the manifestation. It is not a new day because God knew this day before the beginning, before the foundations of the earth. When we see this day, we think it started today but it did not. God knew before its manifestation. It is a promise from God. It is not by formula but by the grace of God. If it is by formula it will not succeed but if it is by the word then all will be tested and it is finished. It is quality by the spirit of God and it remains. When we pray, let it not be by formula but by the spirit. Pray in truth and in spirit, do not depend on what the flesh is saying. The flesh can feel pain but the spirit is willing. Flesh has a cycle to perform but it gets tired. The spirit is there to strengthen the flesh. We do not fast because we can but the spirit leads us to fast. For us to hear the spirit, we must be in the spirit. We fast in the spirit. Some fast for days and do not see the results, usually because it is just a calculation of days. Human ability must not speak on your behalf. The time has come where creation must be liberated. There is a habit of being time conscious when a person is fasting. If a person breaks fasting at 20:00, they make sure they eat exactly at that time. Such a person claims to be in the spirit yet they calculate time. When you calculate you become stagnant. We do not have an option to calculate time. People can see 21 days fasting but God sees (the whole year). It is time to move forward. We do not have time to waste but we move according to God. It is time to understand better and have revelation. It is not about how long (time and seasons. Others think the more they fast the more they get answers. It is not about experience. Experience can be someone’s and not the spirit of God. Others go to the extent of testifying about experience and not about God. No! It is about the revelation you get Mathew 4:1-11 Being led and being guided are two different things. One can be led without being guided. People can lead you but not guide you. The spirit leads and guides you. The enemy targets your identity, if you do not know your identity; you are not firm in Him. You can be a Christian but without identity; the devil can take advantage and attack you. Jesus did not prove that he is God’s son. The devil knew who Jesus was but he asked who He was. God can give you your identity, the devil can take advantage of you and you end up applying formula thinking it is the spirit. If someone says God spoke to them, the one who is listening will be tempted to hear God as well. If it is formula, they look towards the next person. They end up trying to be like the next person because they think they are above them. Jesus was led by the spirit, not depending on himself. One can test God and the other can believe God. When you test God it is all in your hands but when you believe you completely depend on Him. The devil could not overpower Jesus as he believed in God. When you are led, all is under your feet. When you look in the natural eye, it seems impossible to conquer but when it is the spirit then you know you are above. [John 1:1] In the beginning was the word meaning God and the Son are one. Though there was authority for Jesus to say, “Let there be light,” he understood the will of God so He listened and heard from God. It took obedience because if you operate on your own it is in your hands. You can do all when the spirit is in you, you prosper. When you are in the way (Jesus) you must move according to the way. There are things God has laid for our lives but many run away from the promises because of situations. Jesus was in the wilderness but understood God led him there so there is no room for the devil to overpower him. When God gives authority and there is not manifestation - it is painful. Understand the authority God has given you. The wilderness is a place of nothing, a place Jesus was driven to. It was a message on its own. When God performs in the wilderness people’s eyes will be open to God’s work. In hunger, it is where you see the presence of God. Some did not see the hand of God but we inherit the hand of God. Every place has its own message. When we are in the house then we say God is able. The devil took Jesus to the holy city and what is holy is from God. When we do things for God it must not be a burden but by the spirit of God. Do things in the spirit. Some see nice food and say if I was not fasting I was going to indulge. Let this be true fasting with manifestation because not all fasting is with manifestation. People go on fasting and when you ask them what God said they become quiet. Fasting must be for the glory of God. The glory must go back to God and not us. Surrender the glory to where it belongs or you will move with self-righteousness. Understand the things of God with revelation. The main thing is revelation and not time. Elijah began to do what was impossible in the eyes of man. Go into the most secret place and God will reward you in the open. Many want to see the hand of God yet we have not entered the secret room to see what is happening there. Many fast with insurance because insurance is for risks - if it does happen. We must deny ourselves. When the flesh feels pain and it speaks you will do as it says. When you are led by the spirit then you are more than a conqueror. When you move with calculations it is not by the spirit of God but if not then it is done. When we have the revelation it is easy to understand why we must fast. Mathew 6:5-8 It is not about the public but the living God. The public can praise you today and change tomorrow. In the secret room it is you and the Father. The public must not receive first-hand information because it is between you and the Father. It is not safe to do things in the street, you will receive attention from the world and it is not healthy. God must cause them to give you attention. From the secret room even if their eyes do not open God will make it happen. Many want people to see what we are doing. Some announce their fasting but formula must be buried. The praise of man is in seasons. Man can reward you in season; they are like flowers and can fall anytime. God continues to fulfill what He said. We do not fast because we can but God permits us to pray. When we fast because we can it is self-righteousness, according to our ability and we move in seasons. When you move by the spirit you are above seasons and above formula. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
