FEAR AND LOATHING ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL: Richmond Days was blast. I dunked Rep. Seth Berry into a large pool of water (for the benefit of the local firefighters), met Bette Horning, Director of the Senior Center and talked to dozens of interesting people at the Old Goat (with thanks to owner Scott McIntire). The message of the anti-politician is alive an well in Richmond which truly is a beautiful town. Folks, when we got there my opponents were leaving. One had ridden on a parade float and thrown beads around like a Mardi-Gras Queen and the other had Rep. Berry take her around to meet the "important people in town". Neither had clipboards and neither were interested in staying and meeting people. We spent the entire day with the people of Richmond taking notes, listing and asking for CE donations. This is not an easy road and nobody said it would be but we need volunteers. More on that to come. In the meantime, let me hold your worries and deal with the political machine while you and your family get out and enjoy the treasures of District #19, beginning with a trip to Richmond and some lunch at the Old Goat.
