FEATURED LETTER on IT’S COMPLICATED with ALEX “SHOULD I TRUST HIM AGAIN?” Hi Alex! How are you? My name is Ally… and a little over two years ago, I discovered that I was pregnant with my boyfriend’s baby. We were both incredibly excited and a few weeks later, he proposed. The wedding was just late last year, and everything about it was perfect. However, a few months later, I received a long and detailed message on Facebook from a woman who said she had started dating my husband a few weeks after he began dating me, and that he didn’t break off their relationship until he found out about my pregnancy. She said that she knew about me the whole time. She also sent me a video and pictures of them together. I confronted him, and he admitted that he had been seeing her. He apologized and said that he didn’t know just how much he loved me until I told him that I was pregnant. He claims to have not cheated on me at all since we found out we were having a baby, and I am inclined to believe him. I’ve tried to forgive him, telling myself that the past is the past and I shouldn’t hold it against him since he has been faithful and amazing since we got married. Still though, I can’t help but feel that I would have ended the engagement if I had found out about this sooner. What would you do, Alex? ~ Hi there… right off the bat I think that other woman just wanna epal! But I understand…I would have ended my engagement if some chick showed me evidence that my fiancé had been seeing her while he was dating me. But, maybe forgiving him is a good thing. You have a child together, after all, and it seems things have been good for you guys. BUT if you’re finding that forgiveness and trust are a challenge now, you’re allowed to be angry. You need to deal with them or they’re going to come up again and again, Better yet, find a marriage counselor you can speak to together to help process your hurt feelings and trust issues. Goodluck!
