FEMINISM: So last summer when I took a class in international politics, we studied the different perspectives on issue. We had the realist, idealist, Marxist, and then there was last of all the crying feminist perspective. The textbooks tried to give the feminist ideology a stand on issue but it was wanting e.g. what does feminism have to do with global terrorism. And so feminism looked like wanabes. Even the professor teaching the course never expanded much light on the feminist ideology. But here you see evidence of its potency in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. You know there is no one who comes close to being the emblem of the black virile cause. Nobody!!! She reminds me of what Ojukwu described as the black humanity predicated on black virility. Adichies phenomenal intellect gives voice to the black cause. It brings respect; when she talks a black perspective is recognized. Oh she is not scared to call anyone out because she is virile. She is not the product of White man charity or affirmative action like other blacks. So she is not scared to speak, to be angry, to say the truth as it is. Just see this interview. Then read Americanah. She says it as it is in my mind. A woman, leading and being strong for the black cause. Where are the black men who ought to be our Napoleons. None. Failed. She is evidence that feminism is a valid perspective if not even a potent one, that is women being in charge could be a solution. She reminds me of Achebes words when he describes the Biafran, He is afraid, of neither God nor man. Virile struggling to be heard and evidence his humanity. love you Chimamanda Adichie so much. You give me cause to strive on and I take encouragement from you doing it despite all the challenges we as blacks have to contend. I look forward to joining the cause, I am working hard for it: Bsc. Mech Engr, Bsc Physics, Minor in Mathematics. I am working hell hard to be strong in my field for the black cause just as have been strong for us. Love you xoxxoxoxxo.
