FEW TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CURBSIDE PICKUP . . . After suffering through sopping wet basements, are dozens of flooded St. Thomas homeowners in for a sympathetic ear at city hall? Earlier this month, a pilot curbside waste program was launched for disposal of large household items damaged after record rainfall inundated the city on Sept. 5. Under the program, up to five items can go curb side on a user-pay basis. The minimum charge of $35 per household covers collection and disposal of all items.
