He killed 17 NPA Rebels including the NPA Commander Lima. Was also awarded the Medal of Valor. CAPT. Robert Edward M Lucero CO, 6TH SCOUT RANGER COY - ,Killed in action while leading his men in a daring fight against 400 MILF rebels in Carmen, North Cotobato,. Awarded the Medal of Valor (posthumous) PFC. Abner Eustaquio CO, 6TH SCOUT RANGER COY - Despite of being wounded he rescued several Abu Sayyaf Hostages in Operation Daybreak in Basilan Jungle. The fighting was intense when the Rangers crawled to the position of the Abu Sayyaf at just 5 meters away while the Terrorist were sleeping. CAPT. Jake Paler CO, 18TH SCOUT RANGER COY - A Scout Ranger Commanding Officer who was killed in action while leading his men in the front lines during the Camp Abubakar Assault. CAPT Ruben Guinolbay Course Director of SR class 142 FFSR - ,A Scout Ranger Officer who is also known as The Hero of Lamitan. Led his men and defend the Lamitan town in Basilan in an 19 Hours encounter against the Abu Sayyaf rebels. Outgunned ,they stood there ground even under intense fire and no reinforcements, CAPT. Guinolbay carried civilians and his men to safety during encounter .He is recommended for Medal of Valor. CAPT. Oliver Almonares CO, 15TH SCOUT RANGER COY - A Scout Ranger Officer responsible for the rescue of american hostage Gracia Burnham and the recovery of bodies of Martin and Edibora.in Basilan was Recommended for Medal of Valor. SGT. Rodney Magbanua FIRST SCOUT RANGER REGIMENT - Team leader (wounded during the ops) - rescue of the Burnhams and Ms Yap from the Abu Sayyaf rebels in Basilan. COL Ariel Querubin MBLT 1 Commander - A Philippine Marine Battalion Commanding Officer who is also known as The Hero Lanao. Led his 117 Marines in a 24-hour crossfire against around 800 MILF fully armed men under the Notorious Commander Bravo in Kauswagan Lanao Del Norte. His group broke the last line of MILFs stronghold that resulted in the capture of Camp John Mack, considered as the rebels most strategic staging area for operations. in 2002 he also led the team that killed and neutralized Abu Sayyaf spokesperson Abu Sabaya.
