FILIPINOS TOLD TO MAKE SACRIFICES To mark Ash Wednesday, - TopicsExpress

FILIPINOS TOLD TO MAKE SACRIFICES To mark Ash Wednesday, Malacanang made an appeal to all Filipinos to make sacrifices, especially during this season of Lent. As a nation that has been blessed with the guidance and ineffable compassion of the Redeemer, we are all asked in this special season to take this opportunity to undertake small sacrifices, and to examine our individual consciences, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said during a press conference. I really dont know how Mr. Lacierda goes in and out of Malacanang. What is certain is that he really has no idea what the Filipino people are going through everyday, as evidenced by this insulting press release. Mr. Lacierda, for once in your life, get your butt out of that comfy leather chair, get out of your air-conditioned executive office, and try to ride the LRT at 7:30 AM in Monumento station this coming Monday, March 10. Then go down to UN Avenue station, and try to take the jeepney ride to Malacanang Palace. Make sure that when you do this, you are well-groomed, dressed in a neat long sleeves corporate barong and wrinkle-free slacks plus polished italian leather shoes. Also bring your portfolio of documents neatly stacked inside your LV briefcase. Dont worry Mr. Lacierda, you wont be lost. Just follow the line. Its quite long, believe you me. And while we are at it, conduct another press conference with the same subject matter and make an appeal to the following: 1. Tell the President to make a sacrifice by really sending to jail one senator who clearly plundered the treasury. Just one. And send him to jail now. As in now. 2. Tell the Vice President to make small sacrifices by telling his children to observe the rule of law, to obey even subdivision regulations, and to adhere to delicadeza once in a while by giving up or donating any wininng raffle prize such as a condo unit. It will not put a dent on their current wealth and status. 3. Tell the senators to make small sacrifices by killing each other ala gladiator-style combat instead of attacking slyly thru privilege speeches. After all, it has been proven that the country can survive without the upper house. 4. Tell the congressmen to make sacrifices by attending sessions and actually passing laws. As in going to Batasang Pambansa, which is a big session hall located in Quezon City. 5. Tell Kris Aquino to make a sacrifice by not talking during the entire lenten season. 6. Convene all government executives, mayors, governors, and those from Customs, BIR, Immigration, DFA, POEA, NFA, DPWH, LTFRB, LTO, and other agencies to make a sacrifice and join you in your LRT adventure. Just one day Sir, just one day... After making these appeals to the concerned, and then taking that glorious and wondrous LRT ride, then by all means Mr. Lacierda, tell us Filipinos to make sacrifices. We will gladly oblige...
