FIT-Q Triathlete Up close in Transition one of the vision of FIT-Q is to inspire and motivate others to join us doing Triathlons, the fit-q triathlete up close in transition aims to do this by featuring members of our club, know us and our Tri stories and get motivated on doing triathlon. Our feature for today is Reden Calabines Garcia One of the most hardworking fellow in FIT-Q Reden is literally the living testament of the famous triathlon line “anything is possible”. He grinds it out through the hardships in trainings, wisely juggling his triathlon on his busy and irregular work schedule. And he has a proven mental toughness that reinforce this hard work too. few months back. Reden joined a sprint distance triathlon in davao Philippines, with all the excitement flowing on him because its his first triathlon race, redden suffered a setback, he cramped badly during the swim leg and got hit and kicked by fellow triathletes during the usual first 300m “swim washing machine” it went on too much for him and he decided to end his first race and officially DNF(did not finish). DNF is the saddest thing that can happen to you in a triathlon race, I have experience it too so I know it very well. It makes everything that you’ve put in go for nothing, the amount of time you spent in training, away from your family and friends, the financial matters you spent to prepare yourself in the race like, hotel, airfare, etc. ALL GONE for nothing and all that will be left for you is the sad experience and sometimes trauma of not getting the finisher medal or crossing that finish line you deserve to get. Reden dwelled and experience all of this, on his first tri race! So you can really imagine how devastating it is to him, but he proved to himself and to everybody the character of a true hard core triathlete when just a few days ago, he finish his triclub doha gmc sprint distance tri race! and finally erase the stigma of that sad DNF he got! Asked him how he did it then he will probably tell you that he practically killed himself on training to get his mind off that bad experience, that he really push himself hard to improve his swim-bike-run, by doing those well documented “alone” trainings just for him to get himself ready. FIT-Q fellows can attest to that when they will occasionally see Reden training alone. That is Reden, That is us Triathletes! When the going gets tougher, Triathletes never get broken, we bend and grind our way through those adversities! To Reden, congratulations mate! Enjoy your recovery triathlete! Then we will train again just like another day in the office! :) thank you for inspiring us! You can be like Reden too! join Reden and other fit-q triathletes in doing triathlons! its not yet too late, it will never be too late for you to start it, Reden and the whole fit-q will be waiting!
