The entire Indian sub-continent is called Bharat varsha from ancient times and was culturally-religiously-spiritually unified although now politically divided. In fact please browse through the secular google about the thousands of years old sculptures / idols relating to our ancient culture which we call Sanatana dharma. The essence of Indian-ness / Hinduism is spirituality which leads to harmony of self with the surrounding world. It is the common heritage of the entire mankind and anybody who understands and connects with it will be proud of it. Discard your pseudo secular glasses and see how people from distant parts of world are embracing Sanatana dharma. It was the advent of a few ignorant religions which were forced with violence and treachery that had led to break up of the Bharat Varsha. The vision of unified Bharatvarsha is based on the common & shared spiritual heritage and not based on political dominance with power of sword. Trying to sell off social evils evolved over time as Hindu religion and discrediting or completely ignoring the scientific and spiritual wisdom that the Sanatana dharma has to offer is what is the so called liberalism and scholarship in these days and main stream media (MSM) is doing a great disservice not only to the nation but to the humanity by misleading with opinionated and prejudiced thinking and even falsifying facts at time. The Indian way of celebrating festivals or birthday is by lighting the lamp and not by putting off candles. We would like to travel towards light and not into darkness! We celebrate arrival of new year on onset of lively spring when nature rejuvenates itself and not during the autumn. And how audacious is FP in saying “ Dinanath Batra earned notoriety” – It is ignorant guys like you who have earned it for him on MSM.
