FREE NATURAL BUILDING COURSE (In Ireland!) Here at An Teach Saor (Gaeilge for The Free House) there is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to build cord wood and cob walls from one of Irelands finest natural builders, Saul Mosbacher, while helping us to collectively build our free event space, The Happy Pig, into the bargain! Saul often runs renowned courses through CELT, but this is a unique opportunity to learn through working alongside him, with others, for free. You will learn how to build walls, test subsoil, mix cob and natural insulation and see the wide possibilities for building inexpensive, beautiful and natural buildings while having fun! Youll also learn how to frame windows and, undoubtedly, many other skills as you go along. Learning here comes through doing, and therefore work/learning/play (the lines are blurry!) will take place between 9am-6pm Mon-Fri, with an hour for lunch and tea breaks. In the evenings there will be plenty of time for us to hang out and perhaps tell stories, chat and drink in our fire-hut. Work weeks are Weds 23rd - Mon 28th July and Thurs 31st July - Weds 5th Aug. Youre welcome to come any time during these periods, but we can only take people who can come for 2+ days (and the longer the better, for various reasons). We will have 8 places available the first week, and then 12 for the second. Delicious food will be provided for the week! We are based in the wilds of county Galway, Ireland.
