FROM THE DESK OF FATHER PETER My Friends: Thanks again to the Sacred Heart Society and the Rosarians for their continued prayers and recent sales of roses and cake for the ultimate support of the parish. As well I thank those Knights present to help support our annual Communion Breakfast of Faith and Steven McDonald for his inspiring presentation and faith witness to our Police Officers and people gathered that morning. Thanks to Emil Ciliento of Corner Nursery for the flowers which adorned our tables and George for a wonderful breakfast. Let us all continue to discern what gifts - as Stewards of Gods Many Gifts we can use to share at our parish. God bless us as we enter the summer months. ON ANOTHER NOTE! I recently read a quote which stated: THE LEADER SEEKS TO COMMUNICATE HIS VISION TO HIS FOLLOWERS! This is true I hope of every pastor called to serve a parish. Jesus Christ is the ultimate LEADER. However, I as another human being only seek to communicate HIS VISION by my service to the parish as your pastor. We are all people weak and broken but followers none the less. Me too! This parish belongs to countless people and not only to several individual groups. That being said, and with the calendar in mind, I need everyone to understand that from time to time there are MINOR CONFLICTS WHICH OCCUR and can be resolved with the understanding and cooperation of everyone. SADLY, the vision I seek to continue to communicate is often interrupted when I must deal with chronic complaints around every corner. It then makes me wonder and pray as to why I continue. The calendar is being prepared - and yes we have a calendar to schedule as best we can everything and everyone accordingly and the SACRAMENTS and what comes with them ARE PRIMARY. SACRAMENTS! And still minor conflicts will occur which we deal best with. To bang on kitchen doors for my attention as to why and then question me accordingly is not the best route to go. It interrupts my hopes, dreams and visions and my ongoing healing as well. I pray for continued understanding as to why some behaviors do not change in our changing times and ask you to pray as well for the SPIRITS gift of UNDERSTANDING as we move forward. Hold off on what are needless complaints. You only interrupt and hinder the vision. It becomes blinding to the ultimate vision. We are all working and praying hard to sustain the parish. Lets all be kind, charitable and learn to compromise. And on that note, know that I am, Loving you always, Fr. Peter
