FROM THE NEWSROOM: A contract has been ratified by the Para-Professionals Union giving the Thompson Board of Education the green light to hire four new part-time para-professionals, for its Kindergarten classrooms. Being part-time positions, benefits will not be offered, and the contracts will run until June 30, 2017. The Board has also filled the position of part-time Principal for the Elementary School. Tina Chahanovich has been hired as a part-time Assistant Principal for the elementary school. She will also remain as a part-time reading teacher. A long time Thompson Middle and Elementary School educator, she had been highly and unanimously recommended to Dr. Jolin, and the Board of Education by a search committee of teachers, a parent, and para-professionals.
