FROM THE NEWSROOM: GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) — Thirteen students and a driver from the private Stanwich School in Greenwich are recovering from injuries suffered when their school bus went off a road and struck a tree. Police tell the Greenwich Time the injuries from Wednesday afternoons accident included a fractured hip, broken bones and head trauma. Police say none of the injuries is considered life threatening. Police say the bus was traveling on Stanwich Road at about 3 p.m. when it swerved left for unknown reasons and struck the tree. No other vehicle was involved. The 74-year-old driver had to extricated after becoming pinned in the cab. All 14 people were taken to local hospitals. Paul Geise, the schools headmaster, says that nine of the 13 students had been released by Wednesday night.
