FROM THE NEWSROOM: The Brooklyn Conservation Commission discussed a recent act of vandalism that occurred at the Davis Park Disc Golf course at Monday nights meeting. After the 18 targets had been installed for the course, someone apparently tried to pry one of them out of the ground, but the disc golf basket was not significantly damaged and was installed back in its place, according to officials. Despite the towns recreation director earlier saying that those who want to play the unfinished course can do so, Conservation Commission members said last night that the current state of the park has left some of the walking trails unsafe for public use. Michael Oatley, a Brooklyn Conservation Commission member, hopes to get these trails cleared of debris and timber following the parks recent timber harvest. Oatley feels that once the park is opened, it will allow the public to use the walking trails for outdoor recreational activity. The Commission felt the vandalism at the golf course was not particularly significant, and was dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Tune in for the full report.
