FROM THE NEWSROOM: The Killingly Agriculture Commission, Killingly Community Garden and Killingly Grange #112 will be sponsoring a four part Food Preservation Workshop series to provide informational and hands on instruction on Home Canning and Freezing, according to a recent press release. The Workshops will instruct on proper selection, handling and hot water processing of foods in the canning and freezing process. The second part of the series, taking place on August 16 will celebrate National Canning Day by teaching participants to make Basil Garlic Tomato Sauce and Dill Pickles, with each participant taking home jars of their own creations.
