FROM THE NEWSROOM: The question of whether the town of Killingly - TopicsExpress

FROM THE NEWSROOM: The question of whether the town of Killingly will accept the newly constructed Brookside Drive and its proposed sewer easement into the public street system will be heading to taxpayers. Director of Planning And Development Linda Walden said the subdivision developer requested the town take over ownership of the recently built cul-de-sac running south of Hartford Pike, between Dayville and East Killingly. But some Town Council members – most notably Ed Grandelski – expressed concerns that the way the cul-de-sac was built could be inconvenient for snowplowing and bus travel; however, the Council agreed it would be unfair to not approve the request, because the developer went through the Planning and Zoning Commission and followed all the regulations and industry standards. This did, however, begin discussions for how and whether regulations for new roads and sidewalks could be made more stringent in the future. A public hearing and town meeting will be held at the town hall on November 10th at 7 pm and 8 pm respectively. Tune in for the full report.
