FROM THE NEWSROOM: WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — An autopsy is planned on the badly decomposed remains of a man found in a wooded area of Waterbury. Police say the body was discovered Tuesday morning behind a home near the end of a dirt road off Denver place after neighbors reported a foul odor. Police say they have no idea who the middle-aged man was, how he died or how long his body had been in the woods. They say it appears the remains have been there at least several days. They say the area, near some scrap yards and a housing project, is frequented by transients. The remains were sent to the Chief State Medical Examiners Office in Farmington, where an autopsy was expected to take place Wednesday.
