Leicester City came from 2-0 down to secure a point at Liverpool thanks to two goals in two minutes from David Nugent and Jeffrey Schlupp. Brendan Rodgers side were two goals to the good at the break after Steven Gerrard, restored to the starting line-up, scored twice from the penalty spot. The first one was given after Wes Morgan was judged to have handled in the area but replays showed the ball hit the Foxes skipper full in the face. There was no such controversy with the second one as Danny Simpson handled and again Gerrard made no mistake putting his second spot-kick past Ben Hamer. Nugent, on as a first half substitute, hit a superb volley to give Leicester hope just minutes before Schlupp hit a low-shot past Simon Mignolet from just outside the box.
