Facebook wants to know whats on my mind. Ill tell you whats on my mind. Im a little sick of people criticizing the government for bickering, which, in their opinion, led to the shut down. This is how I see it: there are some fine people who have gone into politics because they truly care about people and think or hope that they can make a difference. Then they get into the sticky reality and begin to realize that its not as simple as they may have thought. But they still continue to work very, very hard to try to make things better for some. This shut down was not about bickering. This shut down, at the root of it, in my humble opinion, is because there are people in this country who do not give a hoot about you or me or anyone else except maybe their friends and families. These people seem to think that the only thing that counts in this world is money, and they are bound and determined to get as much of it as they possibly can before they die and have to leave it all behind, no matter who or what gets hurt in the process, including the entire planet and (most) everyone in it. So these people have a strategy: to exploit the simmering frustration of the ignorant and manipulate them like a pack of dogs to beef up their vile agendas. But something happened. The dogs turned on them. The dogs werent as easy to control as they thought. The dogs threatened to bring even THEM and their agendas down. And meanwhile, some folks who actually DO REALLY want to help the struggling and disadvantaged in this country, as well as the just common, hard-working folk of every background and class, find their hands increasingly tied no matter what they try to do. They try and try and try, and find themselves up against the brick wall of greed and lies and manipulation. So at some point, they just say NO!!! That is not bickering. That is standing up for principle in the face of bullying.
