Fantasy premier league transfers – the early GW9 Bandwagons and Sinking Ships Here’s my early FPL bandwagons and sinking ships. These are the 5 most transferred in and out players so far at this early stage coming in to gameweek 9. Remember it’s a European week so any early transfer comes with additional injury risk for players in those teams The Bandwagons These are the 5 most transferred in players within the gameweek Aguero No great shock here after 4 goals in the home game to Spurs. That gives him in 9 goals in 8 games and an FPL point every 9.4 minutes which is the best in FPL and better obviously that Costa’s 10.8 minutes. I’ll give you the fixtures but he can score against anyone, anywhere. A trip to Moscow means you may want to wait until he’s safely through that trip given his injury record. Fitness history and rotation are the risks. You may also want to wait until the Costa position is clearer. Provides an alternative captain option to Costa. Has pens as you saw on the weekend. Next 6 fixtures: West Ham (A) Man Utd (H) QPR (A) Swansea (H) Southampton (A) Sunderland (A) Pelle Has adjusted incredibly well to the Premier League after successful scoring in the Dutch League. It’s now 6 goals and 2 assists in his first 8 games at a pretty reasonable rate of an FPL point every 13.1 minutes. Very good underlying stats show it’s no fluke either. Only Liverpool and Spurs have been from the top 4 challenging teams though. They are also the easier defensively of the 7 sides and Pelle blanked in both. A couple of tricky fixtures creeping up at the back of the 6 after 4 good fixtures Stoke (H) Hull (A) Leicester (H) Aston Villa (A) Man City (H) Arsenal (A) Tadic Has been threatening to explode all season and really did against Sunderland with a goal, 4 assists and a total of 23 FPL points. Plays very high up the pitch and brings a great goal and assist record from Holland. Underlying stats are good as well. Like Pelle has 4 good fixtures before 2 tricky ones. Stoke (H) Hull (A) Leicester (H) Aston Villa (A) Man City (H) Arsenal (A) Jagielka A goal and a clean sheet and 14 FPL points means he’s now scored 2 goals already this season. He’s hasn’t scored more than 2 since 2006/07 so whether you want to put forward extra cash for Baines is another question. Good fixtures for clean sheets after a poor defensive start. Only their 2nd clean sheet although it was a better defensive performance Burnley (A) Swansea (H) Sunderland (A) West Ham (H) Spurs (A) Hull (H) Bertrand No attacking returns but he did get single bonus point. It’s now 4 clean sheets and a goal and an assist in his first 8 games. Southampton have good fixtures as I’ve said above before the last 2 of 6. The defensive returns are no fluke. Saints underlying team defensive stats are very good. Alderweireld is a secure cheaper option without the attacking potential if you haven’t got the cash. Stoke (H) Hull (A) Leicester (H) Aston Villa (A) Man City (H) Arsenal (A) The Sinking Ships These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek Ulloa The 3rd consecutive quiet game and the 3rd consecutive blank for Ulloa. No shot against one of the poorer defences in the league in Newcastle in his 90 minutes on the pitch. The underlying stats don’t show any sign of a turnaround. Fixtures still reasonably good if you’re thinking of holding Swansea (A) West Brom (H) Southampton (A) Sunderland (H) QPR (A) Liverpool (H) Diego Costa Didn’t play against Palace. Apparently not playing against Maribor but nothing said further. Unconfirmed reports that he will be out for 3 weeks. The tricky thing without knowledge is the sell and buy back price difference. Mine is £10.8 vs £11.2m as I had him from the start. If he is out for 3 weeks then it will probably equalise. If he’s back at the weekend then it could mean a difficult buy back certainly for me thats for sure. Thats the difficult question at the moment. Especially if you’re trying to get in Aguero on limited funds by selling other players. Man Utd (A) QPR (H) Liverpool (A) West Brom (H) Sunderland (A) Spurs (H) Dzeko The sale is related to Aguero playing the lone front man so Dzeko didn’t turn out at all. This does happen from Pellegrini against the top 4 challenging teams at times but against the lower placed teams he does tend to play 2 strikers which should give some comfort. So far in 8 games he’s started 5. Sub for 2 and missed 1. That will be par for the course with Jovetic also fit. A very streaky scorer who has some fixtures which could benefit. West Ham (A) Man Utd (H) QPR (A) Swansea (H) Southampton (A) Sunderland (A) Azpilicueta Straight red card and suspended for 3 games. A disappointing non clean sheet against Palace at the last minute add up to a natural sale position even though Chelsea look possibly the best defensive side at the moment with Southampton. Albeit at a far more expensive price. Luis will be the short term cheaper alternative Man Utd (A) QPR (H) Liverpool (A) West Brom (H) Sunderland (A) Spurs (H) Sterling A surprise to see him there considering it’s after a good performance against QPR for an assist and 2 bonus points for a 7 point haul. So far thats 3 goals and 3 assists to date which is hardly shabby. It’s presumably a sell for Tadic? 52% ownership with good fixtures to come and in great form makes him a risky sale for your ranking. Maybe rotated with the Champions League games especially against Real Madrid which is the potential mitigation of that risk. Hull (H) Newcastle (A) Chelsea (H) Crystal Palace (A) Stoke (H) Leicester (A) #XJ07
