Fellow Nigerians, As people of this great Nation let us tell - TopicsExpress

Fellow Nigerians, As people of this great Nation let us tell ourselves the truth. We as citizens have also contributed to the current state of our Nation in the areas of corruption. We as citizens in our own little way have encouraged corruption to a very high level. If as a Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria I decide to be very loyal to my Country and resign with integrity and not having recourse to public fund without building a mansion in my village; my villagers will see me as the biggest fool. Hence, as a Minister I will need to meet up to their expectation by also be a partaker of the National Cake. As leaders, we have to understand that we should not go to church for thanksgiving just because you have won election. Governance is service and service is sacrifice and sacrifice is not an easy task and so why do I need to celebrate. Rather l should be sober because of the enormous task ahead of me and how best I will carry out my mandate for the common good. If I must do thanksgiving, let the thanksgiving be done after the tenure has been completed, because by then you will know how far you have gone and how best God has helped you carry the cross of leadership. Leadership is a cross and Not Luxury. On the contrary, we celebrate because it is the time to carry out vengeance and loot the public funds and carry out all kinds of evil decisions in our lives to the detriment of the common good. Let us really take an in depth reflection on what leadership and governance is all about so we can remove sentiments as we go into another political era of choice and change for a better government. The Presideent must not come from Niger Delta and neither must he come from the North. Any well meaning Nigerian who is ready to make sacrifices for the Nigeria people should be the basis for election. A sacrifice that will bring about Integral development and discipline amongst us. Let us continue to hope for a better Nigeria as we anticipate 2015 elections with great enthusiasm and hope for a just and peaceful society. God Bless us All. Timothy Dokpesi Adidi
