In Ferguson I hear another mother cry In Ferguson Another mother’s son was left to die In Ferguson I can’t stop asking myself why. For four hours the cops left Michael Brown lying on the ground, wanted to display their hatred to everyone around, seems like justice is a word that will never be found, in Ferguson. In Ferguson I hear another mother cry In Ferguson Another mother’s son was left to die In Ferguson I can’t stop asking myself why. Trayvon walking back home from the convenience store, bought a snack and soft drink just like he did the day before, vigilante racist spies him all alone and unarmed, should have left alone and unharmed, took his life for no reason and got away, should’ve been sent to prison for the rest of his days. In Ferguson I hear another mother cry In Ferguson Another mother’s son was left to die In Ferguson I can’t stop asking myself why. Young Black men in Chicago are dropping like flies, White America could not care less how many of them die, Their definition of justice is just for us, They’re still upset Blacks don’t have to sit in the back of the bus. In Ferguson I hear another mother cry In Ferguson Another mother’s son was left to die In Ferguson I can’t stop asking myself why. In America they question the birthplace of our President, They question his loyalty to our country and express their hatred and resent, The chains and the shackles may have disappeared, But they’re still in the hearts and minds of all those who fear the light of freedom, justice and love is coming near.
