Finished my sixth book tonight. Death Me: Stories from the Point of No Return. Kind of my Wheat Field with Crows, it seems. A point of comparison I have been very much aware of. A weird thing to live with. Starts with First Responder from the VQR, concludes with Jacks from the MQR, and has new stories in between, plus stories from The Ampersand Review, Bull, AGNI, PEN America, TriQuarterly, The Hopkins Review. No idea when it might go out. My focus right now is on placing nonfiction book #1, Dont Call Them Pieces, and the book of Cape Cod fiction, Here, Googan Googan, and on finishing this unique Beatles book, Just Give Me Backing, before the year is out and selling that, too. If I get all of that written, that means I will have composed three books in consecutive years (while writing 100 things for newspapers and magazines), and I will be in decent shape for my plan of finishing/writing three novels next year.
