First Appeal – Items Required & Collection Points Hey Guys, Thank you for your overwhelming pledges of support we have received since we founded the Vincent De Paws page. Our first appeal is about to get underway in the next week or so. We are hoping to have our collection points set up either someday mid-week from 6pm – 8pm; or either 2pm - 4pm or 4pm - 6pm on a Sunday. Collection Point Volunteer We are looking at setting up collection points in North, South, East & West Cork – as many collection points as are possible will be most beneficial to helping all the doggies in rescues around Cork. All collection points will be in situ for 2 hours. We already have the Ballincollig, Glen & Togher areas covered – if anyone would like to volunteer to man a collection point on behalf of the cause it would be very much appreciated. We will detail the collection points on our page with pictures of the person(s) carrying out the collection to make it as easy as possible for everyone who wished to donate to locate us Also we would appreciate if anyone with a business would agree to be a drop-off point for people to donate any items. Please PM us if youd like to get involved. Items Required The items we require are quite vast from dog/cat food, treats, dog/cat toys, old collars or leads, old towels or blankets (washed please). We don’t require duvets as the majority of animal rescues we have been in touch with have explained these are quite difficult to wash & dry. We also require cleaning products such as disinfectants, sponges, cloths, washing detergents, rubber gloves, bin bags, etc. If you have any items you would like to donate but are unsure of their suitability please don’t hesitate to message us. We have an album below with goods from Lidl that are reasonably priced, such as cleaning products & dog/cat food. We would love it if you could also support other local pet shops & other shops; or indeed if you run a Pet Shop or local shop and have some great special offers, or items you think would be beneficial please send us a message and the product and price details and we will share them in our album for people to purchase should they wish. Euro Giant also seems to be quite reasonably priced for cleaning products. We know not everyone - ourselves included, can afford to spend a lot of money on items to donate, so genuinely we appreciate every little thing donated no matter how small – even if it’s one pouch of dog food that’s €0.39 from Lidl, it will make all the difference to one dog and the already overstretched rescues that have huge Vet bills. If we can ease the pressure on them by not having to worry about food or cleaning product supply so they can concentrate on the real hard work of looking after all the lovely & deserving dogs, cats & whatever other animals are in their care and find them new homes then I think all of us who contribute can be proud of ourselves We do not accept any monetary donations. Your Dog or Cats Legacy If you have a beloved dog or cat that has recently passed away and have items (aside from momentos you may wish to keep) why not donate them to us in his/her name to help less fortunate doggies & cats in rescue centres in Cork. Also send a picture of him or her to the page and we can share it and put them into our ‘Dog/Cat Legacy Album where they can remain on display :) Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us if you guys have any great suggestions or any feedback for us at all. Vincent De Paws is about all of us dog/cat & other animal lovers doing our bit to help animals less fortunate than our own. So if you cant foster, adopt or donate to a charity why not think of getting something small when youre doing your weekly shop - in the words of one supermarket Every little Helps
